Ele é do Porto, não do Oporto

Evening in Porto
Today's phrases Ele é do/He is from        Não do/Not from

Google Translator got it wrong with 'He is from Oporto, not from Oporto.'
And by the way this remark  Ele é do Porto, não do Oporto was made on Reddit in response to the question'

"I'm going on my first ever date tonight, and the guy I'm meeting is from Oporto, Portugal, but living in England. Any advice or things I should know? I'm 18 f and he's 21, if that helps. Thanks :)

As far as I am aware only the Poms/Brits call it Oporto.
